Xuantan Zhenjun

One of the many gods of wealth worshipped by the public, also known as: God of Wealth, Marshal Zhonglu, Grandpa Zhao...

His full title is Jinlong Ruyi Zhengyi Longhu Xuantan Zhenjun, originally named Zhao Gongming. He is the head of the Five Directions God of Wealth, and the Marshal of the Central Route of the Heavenly Officials. Because Xuantan Zhenjun commands the four deities: 'Jinbao Tianzun Xiao Sheng', 'Nazhen Tianzun Cao Bao', 'Zhaocai Shizhe Chen Jiugong', and 'Lishi Xianguan Yao Shaosi', these four deities specialize in welcoming auspiciousness and blessings, and in business transactions. Thus, he became the God of Wealth. Many people refer to Zhao Gongming and his four subordinates collectively as the Five Directions God of Wealth, hoping they can bring wealth and fortune from the East, South, West, North, and Center to their believers.

Furthermore, 'Xuantan' refers to the Taoist altar for offerings, hence Marshal Zhao is also one of the Four Great Dharma Protector Marshals of Taoism. Zhao Gongming possesses vast supernatural powers. Besides attracting wealth, Marshal Zhao can also summon wind and rain, command thunder and lightning, subdue demons and monsters, and ward off plagues and disasters.
